easy as 1,2,3

A little video of how simple the third chair is to make. Of course the final design would have no tape holding it together, but for this purpose it worked just fine.

Ideation of Design pt 3

The final design was inspired by a design I saw in my research and is an adaptation of the design. I have not developed this very far yet but am looking to do so in the following week. This design is simple to put together, and cut out. It folds flat, and in just seconds can pop up to become a chair, which is great to be able to take to lectures or move around quickly.

Ideation of Designs pt 2

My first new design I came up with started with two pyramids stacked on top of one another and then turned into the reverse profile of this design. I found the more gemstone-like design to be more interesting and responds better to the human form. I like the look of the recycling symbol on the little model as well, perhaps this could become some sort of branding.

More Ideation Exercises

This week I went back and looked at my designs from the previous week and decided to start again. The only design I kept was the third design from last week as I liked the look of the side profile. For this piece I tried to create a more 3D piece rather than the 2D extruded look it had previous. To do this I pulled in the sides following the shape of a seated person and created a tapered seat. The design still requires work but the shape is starting to get a little more interesting.
